Many people want to know how they can help. Here are a few things that we could use help doing if it is something you are interested in.
Lawn care
We have lots of bushes and trees that need trimmed properly. Tony's kept up with mowing and some weeding but we could use a pro...

Where or where did my little mower go...oh where oh where could it be? |
Food
Thank you to everyone who has offered to bring us meals or has dropped goodies off. Tony and I eat at the hospital most days so don't need help every day. If you enjoy cooking or baking we won't turn down a homemade meal. We have created a website to sign up to bring food so we don't get 10 meals all at once.

Another gourmet dinner on our hospital meal plan . . . |
Keep us in your prayers
This is a very stressful time for all five of us. Keep us in your prayers that we stay strong and that the girls advance quickly. We can't wait till they are strong enough to be disconnected from some of their tube and wires.

We accept everyone's prayers! Thanks Lassie!
Kangarooing...
Mindy said we would be kangarooing...what does that mean exactly? I thought it might be something naughty and when I Googled it this picture came up... |
Does Kangarooing include a real Kangaroo?
The Australian version of the single guy saving a puppy ... is that Kangarooing?
I'm not gonna lie, there is a cuteness to it...when the mom does it...
|
I'm so confused, is there a third nipple in the middle I should be looking for?
I've got 20/400 vision so don't mess with me... |
|
Look at my blue and white tubes...they totally look like George Clinton's neon dreads....
Parliament Funkadelic in the NICU house! Yeah...
Now, for the record, I did extra push-ups before it was my turn, but I kept the hospital gown on backwards...and in two pictures you'll see why...
Poor baby still looking for that elusive middle nipple... (Not my chest or baby and why I kept the gown on!) Ugh, I got a hair in my mouth..Yuk!
Rianne's so little and I'm getting sleepy...sleepy...sleepy... So so tired....
Just 5 minutes in and I teach Rianne her first Spanish word ... Siesta ...
Nurse Mindy keeps an eye on the numbers as we sleep...this couldn't be right because she was breathing about 20 to 30 times a minute...great O2 sats though!
We shake hand to index finger to say good night to Rianne - tear jerker...
7/17/2011 Medical Update
Rianne - couldn't Kangaroo tonight because she had two spells where she dropped her HR and de satted (her O2 saturation dropped precipitously, a quick rub and little shake from the nurse brought her numbers up, understandably, she's the only one who is trying to breathe completely on her own so she's had some spells). Daddy did the care for the little ones (check the temp, swab the mouth, change the diaper, switch feet with the pulse ox, Mindy was exhausted from her first visit)
Teagan - amplitude was turned down on her high velocity vent which is good, from I think 30 to 28 and we're looking for around 25 I think. Not sure...hopefully she'll go from vent to bubble CPAP but she fights so much it's tough for her to keep air in. Maybe when she gets a little bigger.
Brielle - did well with her transfusion, may have another tomorrow, otherwise she's doing well moving from intubated to CPAP. Again, as the nurses tell us over and over, two steps forward, one step back...
Think they have their ultrasound on their brains on Tuesday...another "hold your breath" moment...
