This weekend is pretty special because Mindy and I have not really left the state since May of 2011 and we're visiting our good friends down just out side of KC.
Just before we took off Gracie had a t-ball game (with a softball) and I thought there were some pretty special moments, it's so fun and non-competitive. There are some things you do a little differently and every game ends in a tie and everyone ends the game with a 1.000 batting average.
From there I ended up watching a really competitive event in the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships. I was sitting with the Hawkyes and Betsy Flood said the nicest thing about her sister and I hope my own daughters are this altruistic, she said, "I love watching my sister run and I feel even better about her succeeding than I do about doing well myself". And Betsy's a darn good runner having made it to Nationals so we cheered on as Katie Flood won the 1500 meter championship and watched a Hawk, McKenzie Melander ran in a brutally hot 5K. It was kind of crazy because I was a volunteer assistantn coach 4 years ago when we first got to Iowa from Maryland and our lives are so incredibly different than just after the I-80 truck stop!
Well, here's a bunch of pics from Grandmom Guerra's birthday gift (they opened it early, really early)

This is what happens when they leave Daddy to watch the kids. |
If it makes you feel better they are delicious! |

Gracie Fay Models our new pool thanks to Grandmom Guerra |
Okay. Serious Model Faces. Blue Steel from Zoolander. |
Ben, I think they got it! |
Modeling time is over. Splashing time! |
Teagan: Can you fill it with a little more water? I've had diapers fuller than this pool. |
Rianne: You know. I am perfectly happy with the water level. |
It's too late. I turned on the waterfall and Teagan and the girls got soaked and freaked out! |
I don't care if I only have two teeth. I'm gonna eat this lime. |
You see, Rianne, you can tell if the tomato is ripe on the left by its red color and firmness, the green one on the right is not quite ripe. |
Hmm, eat the ball or the foot? |
Okay, I'm ready to get out. |
Brielle risking her life. Tell mom and dad I loved them if something goes wrong! |
Such a bad idea. Such a bad idea. I wasn't tall enough for this ride, I was on my toes. Don't drop me! |
Watch, I can balance this ball on my foot. |
Nuts. |
Let me try the red one. In the background you can see Brielle's hand over hand playing being so good pose. |
Marco! |
Polo! |
