Hand Foot Mouth Disease
We have had a crazy past couple of weeks and I've been meaning to write it all down but I've been too exhausted. The girls all had hand, foot, mouth which lasted a little over a week as they passed it from one to the other.
Brielle was affected last while Teagan had it the worst. I think the only part of her body that didn't have blisters was her back. For anyone whose child has not had this, be thankful. I know it looks worse than it really is, but it was not pleasant for any of us. They all just wanted to be held, which is impossible when you have three babies. Thankfully, they are all better and back to their normal selves.

Guess the baby without seeing the head. Hmm...long legs, oxygen is not going to the baby but past...hmmm...oh, slobber covered bib -- Rianne. |
Teagan's mouth a viral wasteland. Yes, still cute and with it scabbed over, no longer contagious. |
Under the arms the bumps take hold. They didn't seem to itch that badly. |
Teagan is still our super happy baby who is crawling everywhere. She was officially crawling at 10 months or 7 months adjusted. She loves to smile and laugh and climb over and on top of everything. She is our little dare devil and seems to have no fear.
Brielle: Teagan''s such a cheese ball, always smiling. I guess I'll get her some pom pons for her first birthday. |
Teagan trying on the Minnesota Twins hat on for size and if you look closely, stealing Thunselle's wallet. |
Look. If you just handed me the bottle, I wouldn't have to go crawling around all over the place. |
Thanks Megan for our big girl box. Next stop - table with teacups and a 4th setting for ... daddy! |
Rianne is not fond of the whole crawling thing. She tries but then gets frustrated and starts crying which gets rather annoying. She is happy as can be standing, but she can't do it on her own, yet we'd love for her to learn any day now. We have also decided that Rianne is the bully of the group. She likes to pull Teagan's hair and grab Brielle's shirts and push her down on the ground. She doesn't quite get that we don't do things like that, so we try and keep space between all three.
Cooper's got Rianne. Why is Ri looking like she just sat on a toy? I told her just how good Cooper is at Flippy cup. |
They are actually watching Ellen on TV. It's Ellen's 1500th episode and she replayed Ashton Kutcher without...well anything on. |
Look Emily - "the Bachelorette" Maynard, that horse you are riding (and I am riding) is going to be much more loyal and certainly more trainable than any of those 25 guys you've got. |
Are you serious? Those guys want roses? That's silly, girls get roses, boys get .... well, boys get girls roses! |
Brielle can get from the sitting to crawling position back to sitting pretty easily. She isn't crawling yet, but can scoot and gives crawling a good effort. She is a MUCH happier baby these days and is often quite content sitting on the floor playing with her toys. We were told by Brielle's pulmonologist that the earliest she can get off her oxygen is August. Once she starts crawling we may be able to take her cannula off when she is awake.

I'm trying not to smile. |
I don't know why, but I'm craving a Sunkist, maybe an Orange Crush... the girls in their Dutch orange. |
We are becoming more of a "normal" family with kids. We have took them all out for Gracie's tball game. Tony took Teagan to the grocery store.
I think these are Mommy's Favorite! |
And we are trying to take them out for walks every day. The girls love being outdoors. We have a full weekend ahead with Sejal's wedding. I'm nervous about fitting in my Sari but Sejal assured me that they can cover my stomach. I'm excited to see friends I haven't seen in the while and for them to meet the girls.

Our neighborhood had a baby shower for me. It was very sweet! Dr. Murphy (the girls' neonatologist) stopped by to say hi and play with the girls for a bit (he lives a few doors down). |
