A couple of days after Christmas Blog

It's holiday break so you would think we could get some blogging done! I just had a few pictures to upload of the girls and a little post dinner interview. It's like two minutes. I'm having trouble getting it to upload from YouTube so I had to just paste a link. Here's Rianne offering a prayer before dinner.

God Bless Mommy, Daddy, Teagan, Rianne, Michael Vick our quarterback even though he did bad things to those dogs, Larry, Calvin and Santonio, our wide receivers, Arian and Kevin, our running backs, Jared our tight end, Nick our kicker and the Cincinnati Bengal defense (pretty helmets!) as we go into the championship game of our Fantasy Football Season. Amen.

This is the actual video, it may open a window so don't freak out!

Post Dinner Discussion with the Girls

And some candid pics of the girls:

This is not the girls saying "bye" as mommy goes to work, it's the girls saying, "Daddy, you're not really going to take a nap while mommy is working hard at the Hy-Vee, are you?"
Each year I get blamed for eating the tortilla chips, twizzlers and ice cream, but this year only the chips are my fault. We had awesome tortilla soup. I have pictures of the other culprits.

Teagan caught red handed with a Caramel Ice Cream Drumstick

Brielle with the Twizzlers.
We asked everyone to smile for just one picture and got:

Brielle letting us know what she thinks of another photo shoot.

She finally acquiesced.

Teagan was too busy watching the Kardashians to smile. Teagan asked what "Tickle my Pickle" meant because Scott was doing that because he and Kourtney live together and have a son Mason, but they don't share a room ... it was very confusing for her and she thought it silly. Why would you tickle a pickle?

Good parents have the hard conversations and this was her reaction.
Fortunately children don't remember anything before they are five-years-old so we just showed her a bottle and she forgot all about the Kardashians. Just like Kris told Kim that everyone would forget about Kim and she should move to Minnesota because the Midwest is a darn good place to raise kids.
We kind of got Rianne to smile. She was in full conversation about last night's dreams.

When I tell people I've got it tough with three daughters, my father-in-law always gets to upstage me with his four daughters.

Megan was giving me a bunch of tips on child rearing when she visited on Monday and one was that daughters like to match their parents outfits.

Ellie and Megan pose with matching scarves.

So thanks again to everyone who is helping out, the kids are a handful and we could not do it without you. No seriously, we really couldn't do it without you.

Merry Christmas! Well, it's December 17th, but Merry Christmas!

The girls are 10 weeks adjusted today, 5 months actual.  They are all starting to smile more and Teagan loves to talk to us and her giraffe on her play mat.  Tony also spends time on the play mat. Kind of cute...little weird. We really don't get out, so it's kind of like his way of going to the beach.

While those of you without kids laugh, parents are looking at this and saying...hey, that does seem like a nice little water park.

The "Other" reason Daddy has to use the indoor water park

They have started eating more this last week... 4-8 ounces at a feeding.  That's almost one can of formula a day. Yikes.

This our one day of feeding Christmas Tree. Eighteen bottles and one extra!
Mom and Dad also enjoy their tree of deliciousness!

So, we're not eating that healthy anymore...

People have this misconception that we are going to be able to pack up the girls and bring them out and about with us for Christmas.  Well we could but we are going to follow the doctors orders and keep them home.  Micro-preemies are at higher risk of getting sick and developing RSV so we are not going to take any risks. We have spent enough time in the hospital this year.  So, Christmas day will be the five of us hanging out at home.  We'll make up for it next year.

Just a little movie we're working on for next Christmas!

Teagan does a little dance. Bean Bags are making a come back, that's good, that's the only furniture we'll be able to afford these next few years.

Brielle: (Top) Did you hear Southwest Airlines is coming to Des Moines? Teagan: (Bottom): Yeah, I'm looking for the plane.

Kim and Kris are getting a divorce? I thought they were going to have a baby to make their marriage all bettter!

Teagan and Brielle hanging with Mom.

Rianne practicing sign language...that's an E, I think.

Brielle without her oxygen cannula on...

Teagan getting ready for her role in the school Christmas play...she doesn't know any words yet so she's in her sheep outfit.
Our family has been extra helpful and we are glad Mickenzie and my mom are on break again so that means more helpful hands around the house!  Thank you mom, dad, Angie, Mickenzie, Megan, and Gracie we appreciate your help and the girls love the extra attention.  Megan we don't have any pictures of you and the girls.  We need to get you on the other side of the camera.
Auntie Kinzie with the girls.

Auntie Gracie is a little smaller so she only gets to hold one, Teagan.

Angie coming to trade in Gracie for a "fresh one".

Grandpa Craig showing Teagan how to defend herself against "Boys".

Teagan's not holding her breath, those are her cheeks!
